Katherine O’Brien earned her BS from Northwestern University in 1986 and an MA from Franciscan University in 1991, graduating with honors. She is committed to providing students and their families with empowering vital personalised guidance during their high school and college years.
Katherine is an experienced educator. Over the past twelve years, she has taught all levels from Kindergarten through high school.
Since 2004, my firm, Celtic College Consultants, has been helping students and their families from all over San Diego County prepare for college, get accepted, and find ways to pay the fees. CCC is a member of the National Institute of Certified College Planning Specialists. NICCP advisors are professionals with extensive training and continuing education in college financial planning. We possess the skills and experience necessary to help you reduce the financial impact of higher education.
Katherine is a member of the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling. She is also a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association, HECA. WACAC, HECA, and NICCP have high codes of ethics, to which CCC adheres. Additionally, Katherine is a member of the PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) where she serves as the college readiness chairwoman at a local high school and Business Network International (BNI) where she serves as the Education Coordinator for her chapter. Katherine is also a Committee Member for Cub Scout Pack 681, Boy Scout Troop 686, and Boy Scout Venture Crew 686. She is a member of Christian Family Schools of Poway, CA and the California Homeschool Network. She is a seasoned professional actively involved in her community.
