A Note to Homeschooling Families

Homeschooling is a very rewarding lifestyle. However, you need to cover all your bases. I have learned, during my eleven years of homeschooling, that I need a support network to fill in the gaps, to help us provide our children everything they need.

As a veteran homeschooler, I am aware that our needs are a little different from the mainstream. How do you create a high school transcript? How can you document your child's non-traditional achievements in a way the colleges will appreciate? How do you sign up for the PSAT, when registration is only at the high schools? What classes need to be part of your child's high school curriculum? And, the big one, how in the world can we possibly afford college?

I would love the opportunity to discuss your situation with you, to give you guidance, and to work together to come up with a strategic plan to minimise your college costs. There are ways to do this that work, and ways that aren't as helpful.

If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email. Serving my fellow homeschoolers is my first priority, after serving God.

My 90 minute "How to pay for College without Breaking your Bank" workshop is available online here: http://tinyurl.com/paycollege You may view it from your computer anytime for free. This workshop covers all the basics of admissions, funding, and financial aid. There is a lot to it. Take the time to watch the webinar, then give me a call and we can discuss your particular goals and situation. Then I will identify some strategies which will help you meet your goals and use your resources most effectively. Finally, we will discuss working together, once we both see what I might be able to do for you.

Last but not least, a list of colleges which have accepted homeschooled students is here: http://learninfreedom.org/colleges_4_hmsc.html (I will learn how to make that a proper link someday.)
